A guide for basic ad troubleshoot
You have a product and you start using social media advertising platforms and try to make some conversation, in the beginning, you are confident that soon you will join the millions of clubs.
Time goes on and your ad delivering, your budget is running fast and the conversion still not coming, soon you are realized that your advertising cost is now higher than your possible income and you start to panic, some people will turn the ads off immediately and lose the delivery’s machine leaning result.
So why don’t you calm down and read this article, it may help you.
Before you turn off your ad check these key factors first.
How much for the CPC and CTR rate?
Everyone knows that not all the clicks could be converted, but the CPC is important to determine if it’s possible that you can make income from the ad.
A high CPC and low CTR will absolutely increase your ad cost and low your chance to make a profit, either a high CPC or low CTR you should turn off your ad, then rethink the following factors:
- does your audience could be more targeted?
- does your ad creative could be more attractive?
- does your product’s price competitive?
- Make changes to the factor and do the test again.
Remember that always use an A/B for your ad before you speed a large amount budget.
The following factors need to be tested before you put your budget at full speed:
- Audience
- Creative
- Placement
However, if you already have a lower CPC and good enough CTR(For most cases 1-3%) then you should not that hurry to turn off your ad.
A good CTR but with a bad CVR normally the problem comes from the landing page, you can check the following factors:
- How fast of your landing page loading?
- Does your CTA button in the right place and brings attention?
- Does your landing page’s copywriting and design good enough?
Is there any possibility something breaks your CTA button’s action? I was running an ad for my printing business, the goal is to let people click the button and into the Facebook Messenger chat. I got a good CTR rate but the CVR rate is not good. by watching the users’ actions playback I found that the Tiktok platform sometime won’t open the Messenger app when the user clicks the CTA button.
When you run an ad, especially when you run the ad for yourself, calm down maybe is a hard thing to do. However, you need to calm down and think a lot before your action.
